The Commission is designed for an 11-member capacity. The Commissioners, all volunteers, are appointed by the Mayor of Richmond with the concurrence of the Richmond City Council to serve four-year terms. New applicants who wish to become active advocates for the arts in the Richmond community are encouraged to apply for vacant seats. Commission meetings are also open to the public.

Public Art Advisory Committee
Mission:  It is the mission of the City of Richmond Public Art Program “to enliven and beautify the city environment, creating community pride for city residents. The program will encourage and promote awareness of the city’s rich ethnic, social, and cultural diversity as expressed through visual, literary, performing, and design arts.”

The Public Art Advisory Committee (PAAC) is composed of a minimum of five and a maximum of seven members who shall serve a maximum of two, two-year terms. The PAAC shall include a maximum of three members of the RACC. You can download the PAAC Application Form (DOC) for more information.
