Multi-family complexes 3 and 19 units can participate in a new pilot program for the curbside collection of household bulky items. Participation in this program is on a first-come first-served basis. Interested residents are recommended to contact their building owner or manager to schedule a pick-up. Collections may be scheduled for individual units, or combined to serve multiple units on the same day.
Richmond residents can receive two on-call curbside cleanups per calendar year:
1. Up to three (3) eligible bulky items which can include up to five (5) E-waste as one (1) bulky item
2. Up to fifteen (15) 35-gallon bags of non-hazardous residential household trash, or ALL yard wastes only
Please contact Republic Services, (510) 262- 7100, at least one week in advance to reserve your Clean-up day. Collection services are provided by Republic Services at no additional cost. Due to space limitations of our waste collection vehicles, Clean-up day scheduling will be on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Holiday Tree Disposal and Recycling Options
Residents have several options to properly dispose of holiday trees. Please read the summary below.
a) On any of your regular green waste collection days, cut your unflocked, natural tree to fit in your yard waste cart. Trees must be 6 feet or less in diameter and cut to 3 feet in length. Cut off the top and remove the stand and all decorations. Artificial trees should be put into the trash bin.
(b) If you’ve not already used your two annual allocated On-Call Curbside Clean-up(s), call Republic Services to arrange for no cost curbside pick-up at (510) 262-7100. Unscheduled pickups are subject to a service fee by RSS.
(c) With proof of residency (driver’s license or CA ID), Republic Servicescustomers can take Christmas Trees to Golden Bear Transfer (1 Parr Blvd, Richmond; Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM; Saturday - Sunday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM) through the first weekend in February at no cost for compostable trees; there will be a disposal fee for a non-compostable tree or no proof of residency.
