POOLS & ALL NON-ESSENTIAL SERVICES ARE CLOSED
Due to the directive issued by the State of California, Contra Costa County and the City of Richmond regarding Coronavirus (COVID-19), many facilities will be closed until further notice. Please note that during this time e-mail and voicemail sent to staff will be checked intermittently.
The County has not yet given permission for indoor pools to reopen, but staff are making plans to reopen once allowed and staff are trained and prepared.
Pool Rules Please read and become familiar with the pool rules before your first visit to be sure you are prepared. If you have any questions, please ask our staff.
POOL SCHEDULES & PROGRAMS WAIT LISTS
On warm days, we tend to fill to our capacity. When that happens we will start a wait list, but there is no guarantee of entry at that point. This most typically happens during Family Recreation Swim sessions, but can happen at any time.
FAMILY RECREATION SWIM
If you are looking for unstructured play time in the pool (for adults or kids), we invite you to enjoy Family Recreation Swim sessions. Do not come during Adult Lap Swim sessions if you want to play in the water, or if you have children under 16 years. We may have limited space for Lap swimming during these sessions, but there is no guarantee.
American Red Cross Lifeguard Course provides training and certification to participants who pass the written and practical portions of the course. Lifeguard Training is offered throughout the year with our main goal of training Lifeguards who want to apply to work at our pools.
For safety reasons, all children 8 & under must be attended by and supervised at arms distance in the water and deck area at all times by an adult, with a limit of two children per adult. Children 9-13 may swim with an adult supervising in the facility. We understand that some children who are under 9 may be excellent swimmers, but we enforce this policy for all drop-in swimmers, regardless of skill level. Please do not ask staff to bend the rules.
Swim Wear Required
For safety and pool maintenance reasons, please be advised that all swimmers are expected to wear appropriate swim attire (swim suits). Rash guards & synthetic swim shirts may be worn, but no cotton t-shirts/tanks, street clothes, etc.
All babies and toddlers 4 & under must wear a swim diaper (no regular diapers).
